How crafting works
4 STEPSYou craft only in Speranza, between raids — never in the field. Everything you spend or make flows through the stash, so materials must survive extraction to enter your supplies.
Gather materials
Loot containers and ARCs, then extract alive. Material you don't carry out of the raid — you don't have.
Learn a blueprint
Advanced recipes need a blueprint. Find it in a container (or from a quest/trials) and extract it to learn it.
Craft at a station
Open the right workbench in the Workshop menu and spend materials from your stash.
Upgrade
Upgrading a station unlocks stronger recipes; weapons climb through tiers I–IV.
If you die in a raid with gear you crafted, you lose it (unless it was insured / a Free Loadout). That's why beginners craft cheap and save expensive materials for runs they're sure to extract.
The workbenches
WORKSHOP · SPERANZAThe Workshop in Speranza holds several crafting stations — each makes its own item type. Every station upgrades (typically up to level 3, the Gunsmith and Research Station up to level 4), and each level unlocks new recipes. Upgrade materials are gathered in raids.
Gunsmith
LVL 4All firearms and gun parts. This is also where you upgrade weapons to a higher tier. Level 4 requires an Emperor Modulator, 3× Radial Press, 3× Magnetic Accelerator and 4 Outpost rooms.
Guns · pistols · gun partsGear Bench
LVL 3All augments and every shield type — light, medium, heavy.
Augments · shieldsMedical Lab
LVL 3Healing consumables and shield rechargers — bandages, injectors, rechargers.

LVL 3All grenades and mines — from smoke to blaze grenades and traps.
Grenades · minesUtility Station
LVL 3Tactical gadgets that raise your survivability — decoys, sensors, deployables.
Tactical gadgetsRefiner
LVL 3Refines base materials into advanced components needed for pricier recipes and upgrades.
Refined materialsResearch Station
LVL 4 · NEWA new station from Frozen Trail 2.0, unlocked together with the Outpost. Each of the 4 levels requires a matching number of Outpost rooms. Level 4 requires a Frigate Inductor, and a fully upgraded station is the requirement for weapon Amplification.
ResearchScrappy
LVL 5The recycler — breaks loot and damaged ARC parts down into basic crafting materials.
RecyclingStash
LVL 12Storage — no recipes, but each level gives more space for materials and blueprints. It starts at 64 slots, each following level adds 24, and level 12 gives 328 slots (not counting space from Expedition rewards and Nomadic Envoys).
StorageWorkbench
BASEThe base station you start with — simple recipes before you unlock specialized stations.
StartOutpost — new in 2.0
FROZEN TRAILThe Outpost is a Raider Den extension that Celeste offers to Raiders who set out to explore Pendola Pass. It sits between the Rust Belt and the mountain range rather than on the map itself. According to Embark, it is the first step to reclaiming parts of the surface.
Unlocking
It unlocks by completing a project (a quest). Accept the quest and bring your camera: the first step, "Research Topside Living Conditions", asks for a photo of a farmland house. Cameras are bought from Shani, crafted at the Workbench or found Topside.
Project · cameraResearch Station
Unlocking the Outpost gives you access to the Research Station. It opens higher levels of weapon customization and modding, and a full upgrade unlocks weapon Amplification.

Of the 100 Design items, 4 are exclusive to the Frozen Trail Pass, 1 to the DLC (Retro Sofa), 73 are found Topside and 22 unlock by upgrading the Outpost. They are learned like blueprints, then the furniture is crafted.

Materials and where to find them
SOURCE: arctracker.ioEvery recipe is paid in materials. They split into tiers — from cheap base material to rare advanced components that are either found rarely or refined. Names are from the game itself.
Basic materials
The most common, cheap building blocks — you get them from breaking down almost anything. The foundation of most cheap recipes.
Topside materials
Collected up on the surface (Topside) — usually Uncommon rarity and above. ARC parts, wires, gun parts, processors, sensors. The backbone of mid-tier recipes.
Refined materials
Not found raw — you make them at the Refiner from base materials. Required by pricier recipes and upgrades.
Advanced components
Rare, expensive components for the strongest recipes. Epic rarity — usually from big ARCs or long refining.
Blueprints — recipes are unlocked
100+ blueprint itemsNot every recipe is available from the start. Advanced weapons, gadgets and gear require you to first learn a blueprint — and to have the right workbench at a high enough level.
Find it
Blueprints most often hide in loot containers on the maps; some come from quests and Trials rewards.
Extract it
You must carry the blueprint out of the raid to learn it. Die with it in your backpack — no learning.
Unlocked for good
Once learned, the recipe stays forever. From then on you only need materials and the right station.
Recycling — making resources
SOURCE: arctracker.ioAny material above Common rarity can be recycled into lower materials (at Scrappy). This turns junk and damaged ARC parts into the base materials you need to craft — you don't have to find everything raw.
Rule of thumb: keep Common material, consider recycling anything above Common when you're short on base material for a cheap craft. The full base of 691 items with value and rarity is on the Items page.
Weapon upgrade paths
GUNSMITHMost weapons exist in 4 tiers (I → IV). You don't find the IV version — you upgrade yours through the tiers at the Gunsmith, spending gun parts and advanced components. Each tier raises stats and value.
The same holds for nearly every family — Arpeggio, Kettle, Stitcher, Il Toro, Ferro… The strongest experimental weapons (Dolabra, Jupiter, Equalizer) are Legendary and exist in a single tier only — you don't upgrade those, you hunt them. Weapon descriptions and the new fifth-level Amplification are on the Loadout page.
